Law and Order: Trump Steps in Where Bowser Checked Out

By sending in the National Guard to support overwhelmed police in Washington, Trump has spotlighted the failure of "soft on crime" policies that plague many Democrat-run cities. While the Guard isn't trained for law enforcement, their presence is a force-multiplier, giving police breathing room to do their jobs.

And say what you want, but DC police have actually welcomed the federal backup, though you wouldn't know it from the silence of the media—except for them to go on and on about police states and more echoes of Trump the Dictator.

Meanwhile, Mayor Muriel Bowser was sipping Pinot at Martha's Vineyard while Trump stepped in to handle the chaos she couldn't—or wouldn't—control. Kind of reminds you of Mayor Bass who vacationed while her city burned to the ground.

Where there's disaster, always look for a Democrat to be behind it, either absent from it, or absent minded about it, with their first priority being only to find someone to put the blame on for everything that goes wrong.

Her only answer to rising crime? Leniency, no matter what the offense is. But again, that's a Democrat for you. Bass is guilty of it too. And don't take your eyes off Chicago and all the chaos happening on a daily basis there.

In cities like this, drug dealers and gang bangers rule the roost, and the citizens can only live, entrenched in a domestic terrorism that their so-called leaders just turn a blind eye to.

Some liberals do get it, but they are few and far between, and of course, many don't speak out because if you tell the truth, there may be dire consequences from doing that. Take MSNBC's Joe Scarborough, who's no fan of Trump, mind you, who admitted on air that DC's crime problem is out of control despite whispers in his ear from Chuck Schumer saying, "DC is safe."

Hey Schumer, you know eggs look better on your plate than on your face, right?

Granted, if you ask any one of these Democrats about crime rates, they will tell you they are all going down. But of course, the numbers tell a very different story and the grieving families and ruined lives their ineptitude creates, know better.

A 3-year-old girl was shot and killed while watching fireworks on the 4th of July. Eric Tarpinian-Jachym, a young congressional intern, was gunned down on June 30th walking near 7th street.

And so much of this crime? It's done by kids. Kids know the score. In cities run by liberal DAs, crime pays, and punishment is a slap on the wrist. That message spreads fast. I mean, look at liberal Milwaukee—you can't park a car anywhere without it being at risk of being stolen and taken for a joyride, and the same kid who steals your car today just stole one two days ago and got off easy for it. The jailer should just hand them a set of keys on their way out the door and tell them, "See you again next week, I'll have a sandwich waiting for you."

The bottom line is that accountability isn't cruelty—it's protection. The question isn't complicated. Should we shield criminals, or defend the law-abiding citizens who live, work, and visit our cities?

A justice system that turns a blind eye, offers endless second chances, and defunds or hog ties the hands of the very people who are there to keep order isn't justice at all. It's surrender. And regardless of what anyone thinks about what Trump is doing here, there's only one place one needs to look to place the blame on it, and that's Mayor Muriel Bowser. If she was doing her job, the National Guard wouldn't even be a thought.

It's gone on too long. People are tired of rampant criminals running loose on our streets and making life difficult and miserable. Someone has to do something, and if that means taking drastic, tough measures then so be it. Maybe it is akin to a police state that we don't really want. But think about, didn't people vote for it when they put these people in a position that created it?

There can only be two solutions here. One is to run the crime out of town, and the other is to vote out the people who allowed the crime to run the town.

Following President Joe Biden's Sunday night pardon of his son, we can expect the left and the media to scramble to downplay the event as a "nothing to see here" moment. And really, that's pretty much what it is. Historically, presidents have exercised their right to pardon people across the spectrum of guilt and innocence. The good, the bad, the ugly? It's all fair game when it comes to pardons. Presidents have the prerogative to grant pardons, regardless of the circumstances or the individual's guilt.

The fact that President Joe Biden pardoned his son, Hunter, isn't something I take issue with—except for the context. In this case the context does matter. At least to my mind it does. 

To grasp the implications of Biden's decision to pardon his son, one has to reflect on the past four years and all of the narratives surrounding Trump. How many times were the tables pounded, telling us, "Donald Trump broke the law, and no one is above the law!"

I said many times it was never truly about the law. And I think many Trump supporters and even some Democrats, would agree. If nothing else, this pardon highlights that point more clearly.

What was it really about? Politics. That, and I think it was a historic and blatant attempt to undermine the American people's right to choose their leader. This was always more about eliminating a political opponent than upholding any laws.

What makes this clearer will be the entire reaction by the left and the media to Biden's pardoning of his son. And we already know what that will mostly be. A complete dismissal of the entire event. That's the tell, folks. That's the shiny thing in the darkness.

During his campaign, Biden repeatedly assured the American people that he would honor the law, even with his own son on the wrong side of it. "We respect the rule of law," he said with a smirk, subtly pointing to his opponent as if to say, "Unlike that other guy."

And how many times was that assurance even used as more means to convince people Trump needed to be held to account for what he allegedly was accused of? "See how important the law is," they suggested. "Even the president himself won't let his own son off the hook."

The left might argue tit for tat. I can already see that coming. After all, if Trump wasn't held accountable and was even elected, isn't pardoning Hunter now fair game? If Trump's election negated the law's importance, shouldn't Biden have the right to go back on his word?

Why should Hunter face prison time while Trump gets to hold the keys to the White House?

As I mentioned, I'm not concerned about Hunter being pardoned. It's the president's prerogative. What interests me more is the current stance on the law for those who once emphasized its importance. If they now dismiss it, just because, what does that say about their entire argument against Trump and the alleged travesty of justice he orchestrated?

Will Biden and Harris supporters claim Biden lied when he assured the American people he would follow the law? Will they have any misgivings about Hunter being given a pass? Can they be honest about it? Or will they simply go along with it, ignoring the context when compared to their arguments about Trump over the past four years?

This is the moment of truth. It's when true colors are revealed. It's where we see if those who claim to be committed to their convictions can step away from their staunch support and take an honest stand.

To me, the issue isn't just about Hunter Biden's pardon. It's about the consistency and integrity of those who loudly championed the rule of law against Trump. It's a moment of introspection and honesty, where actions speak louder than words. If justice was so important in the case against Trump, how could it not be in the case of Hunter, and how could the same people who called for justice in one case now openly advocate against it in another?

Is It Time to Open the Floodgates?

It is no secret that Trump's indictments and trials are of an entirely unprecedented nature. It's not to say that anyone should be considered above the law in any sense. But at the same time, it is not all that unobvious why now, and why Trump.

I know it sounds conspiratorial and a bit tin-hatty, but is it even just that Trump is winning that's the issue here?

What does Trump know and what does the left have to hide?

The argument the left is hanging on is, "All people should be held accountable." They keep pounding their fists about it. The problem is, how come they don't think that way about everyone except for Trump? Essentially, everyone else gets a pass but Trump has to pay?

Sure, the left likes to say, "But Trump's guilty." But by who's measure? Because they (the left) say so, and we just have to take their word for it?

The thing is, no matter what accusations are thrown at the left, they are quickly dismissed as lies and innuendo. Mere accusations with no basis in fact. But when it comes to Trump it's all true no matter what and grave abuses of the system and powers.

How many years did we have to sit through the Mueller investigation solely based on the premise of what turned out to be a fake dossier that accused Trump of doing what? Stealing an election. Only to have anyone on our side shut down for even suggesting Biden may have stolen his.

Trump told protestors on January 6th to be peaceful, yet he was adamantly accused of inciting an insurrection. Yet, no one batted an eye when Chuck Shumer said there would be hell to pay before someone tried to storm Justice Kavanaugh's home to kill him.

How many times was Bill Clinton accused of rape and sexual assault? Were there cries of accountability then? When Fast and Furious was revealed, that guns were being offered to Mexican drug cartels that caused the death of a border patrol agent, were there cries then?

How about when Obama directed the IRS to "slow down" the process of approving certain tax-exempt status for conservative PACs during an election year. Did that raise any eyebrows? Or when his administration outright lied to the American people about the nature of Benghazi to free the optics during an election? Was that of concern?

Hillary Clinton not only kept an unsecure and frankly illegal server, but she also "wiped" it after it was discovered, and 30,000 emails went missing that we have no idea what they contained other than what she alleged they contained. Nothing to see here?

No one wanted to question what Hunter Biden was doing regarding Burisma in Ukraine or what was suggested might be a connection to then Vice President Biden. And then there's the laptop. There's the "big guy" theory strongly suggesting deep criminal activities conducted in the Biden family. 

Not even a hiccup from the crowd.

There are irregularities in the classified documents cases between Trump and Biden. 

I don't want to see the political landscape to be forever locked in criminal investigations while at the same time asserting that I think no one is or should be above the law in any circumstance. But at the same time, we can't just focus on one man and leave all the others untouched. We can't accept all of the accusations of one man and dismiss any others as silly to suggest.

When the left talks about accountability, what are they really saying? Hold TRUMP accountable. Period. End of story.

That by itself strongly suggests the entirely political nature of this. Because if it was truly about accountability, the courts would be filled with cases against politicians on both sides of the aisle, and the 24-hour news cycle would hardly be able to keep up with all of it.

I am starting to think all bets are off. Let's open the flood gates. Let's put them all up for grabs. Every single one of them. Let's have investigations up the wazoo. You want accountability? Fine. Put your money and your laurels where your mouth is.

Because again, when the only guy I see being held to account happens to be Donald J. Trump and everyone else gets a pass, I have only one thing to say.
