American Manufacturing Is About More Than Just Jobs
Bringing back American manufacturing is critical to American society in more ways than just economic ones. In order for America to succeed it needs the ability to make things, not only for the stability and good jobs it provides, but for national security as well.

Can We Just Dispel the Trump Project 2025 Myth Once and for All?

You know, this whole Project 2025 thing irks me to no end, because here we have this document, that has been put out by conservatives in The Heritage Foundation, that has now become attached to Donald Trump regardless of whether Donald Trump has anything to do with it.

It's the latest buzz word on the left, and you hear it in the media, talked about by pundits and commentators, it's been mentioned several times at the Democrat National Convention—in their mind it's Trump's "world order," and that's that.

Even if it isn't, and even if the people saying it probably know full well it isn't.

Just like so many other things in the past launched against Donald Trump, nothing has to be true. Nothing has to have merit. You only need to say it happened and it becomes true.

Russia collusion, the impeachments, the indictments, the felony conviction—all of these are things the left will hang onto regardless of whether or not Russia collusion was proved to be a hoax, regardless of whether or not there was any real reason to impeach Trump, or regardless of whether a conviction actually followed a real crime.

There are still people wholly convinced Trump wants to be a dictator. "But he said it. It's on video. He said he wanted to be a dictator on day one!"

Only an idiot believes that, because when you add in the part where he said, "I want to drill baby drill and secure the border and then I won't be a dictator anymore," makes it clear that what he was saying is that he would simply use the powers of executive orders on day one to restore policies he had in place when he was president before.

To me, there is a real easy fix here. All the media has to do is scour through the Project 2025 document and match up Trump's former policy positions and current policy positions and see where things fall. They could easily do this and point out specific areas in the document that the former president clearly does not support.

Of course, that would require honesty and integrity in reporting. Something that the media abandoned probably decades ago by now. Besides, how can they try to use Project 2025 as some scary new world order manifesto unless they can simply tie it to Trump and leave it at that?

Wouldn't this be simple fact checking? I mean, we can trust the fact checkers, right? I digress. The reality is that even with most fact checking, it's not a team of people looking into something and saying, "Make it right." It's a group of people simply saying, "Make it so."

What makes matters worse is the power the media has over people's minds. Not so much on the right. Conservatives actually want to know what's going on. But the left will buy anything the media sells them without any question.

Sure, some are going to simply say to me, "Well, you say Trump's not associated with Project 2025 because you support Trump." To that I say, I actually know what Trump's positions are because I have read them. I have seen them. I have heard them. So, I can look at parts of Project 2025 and know it does not align with Trump at all.

I mean, it may sound silly to suggest it, but what if we went all the way back to the formation of the KKK, which was formed by Democrats, by the way. Would we have automatically said that anything published by the KKK was a manifesto supported by all Democrats or the party itself? Would it have been a Democrat document?

No.

Sure, did some Democrats support parts of any KKK doctrine? Yes. Does Trump support some elements of Project 2025? Yes. But all of it? Hardly.

But again, that's the job of the media to tell us one way or the other how much of the claim that Trump is associated with Project 2025 is true. Beyond that, it's their job to point out specifically, especially the most radical parts of it, that are not true.

The reality is that truth is a really hard thing to come by these days, and never before in American history has it been more paramount for all Americans to shut off their TV's and start doing their own homework. Because no one's going to give it you straight anymore, and it's their word against ours.

The fact is that Trump is not associated with Project 2025, and I say that because so much of what's in it simply does not line up with things Trump has said and done or is saying now. It's a document borne from a conservative think tank that is simply their idea of how things should be. It is not a mandate and certainly is not a directive that Trump is going to follow to govern by.

The Cost of Being Right

It keeps popping up in the news that since Elon Musk took over Twitter (now X) that it's losing throngs of daily users. And while that's true, what's not necessarily true is the reason why users have left. The media wants to paint it as "an attack on free speech and promotion of hate speech."

But, as is typically the case, who is defining what free speech is and what can be classified as hate speech? The media. And well, the left.

All too often anymore the truth itself can simply be called hate speech. Like saying a man is a man and a woman is a woman. Forget about science or the verifiable truth of that statement. It's hate speech in the eyes of many people.

In order to be a racist in today's world, for example, you need not honor the KKK or support segregation or other things. You simply need to call for a secure border and have conservative values. And if you espouse these values in a place like X, you are going to be labeled a hater and a racist, and according to some, you should not be allowed to say these things and because Musk, unlike his predecessor Dorsey, is not policing and censoring and shadow banning these values, many people simply can't handle that.

Those are the people who are leaving. The ones who before Musk were able to willy nilly say anything they wanted and could be assured that anyone espousing different opinions or values would immediately be shut down.

What essentially happened is that the playing field was leveled, and a good many people simply could not handle it.

By leaving they also have the impression that in some way they are sending a message that this simply cannot stand, and we should go back to the way things were or else. We'll destroy you, they are essentially saying.

Of course, that's not going to happen. The site is better now than it ever was. Freer now than it ever was. And more truly user-friendly than it has ever been. Everyone gets to have a voice, like it or not.

At the same time users are dropping off, of course some advertisers are also saying no to X. That can be a problem since X is of course a business, and its main source of revenue is from advertising. Musk has said he wants to charge all users to use the site, but I think that's a recipe for disaster. That could potentially destroy the site and any hopes it can make a full recovery.

While some may be willing to pay for the chance to tout their opinions and share their lives on the site for a small fee, I would suspect most would not. I would be one of those who would not be willing to pay to post.

At the same time, I think that if the site were to operate behind a paywall, it would also become less diverse and more of a "club" of sorts than a total free place to express oneself.

But that's a separate issue.

Part of the reason some advertisers are jumping ship, though, is directly related to the media and its portrayal of X, which they think resonates with their customer bases. In fact, I think the reality is just the opposite of that. Consumers are paying attention to woke politics by companies more than ever, and if they see an advertiser essentially rallying against free speech, I am not sure this will bode well for them.

Most people, despite how it seems sometimes, are more conservative and patriotic than many give credit for—even many liberals.

What Musk's X is suffering from is very simple. It's suffering from doing what's right. It's suffering because it broke up the monopoly the left held on speech. And naturally there are going to be some people who simply won't accept that.

Quick Shout: The Left Is Killing Itself

It is perhaps one of the most amazing things to me. You would think the left would get it. Every time they open their mouths and spout off their rhetoric, or try to influence their "cause," what they wind up doing instead is sealing their own fates.

The Grammy's are losing money hand over fist because the celebs can't keep their mouths shut about politics. The NFL is losing money hand over fist because they insist on letting players diss the country by not standing up for the anthem. And now the Olympics is falling victim to this as well.

What's more, after the horrible tragedy that was the school shooting in Florida, as a handful of companies try to remove discounts for NRA members, NRA memberships are skyrocketing. And gun sales are up again. You can bet that anyone denying those discounts publicly from NRA members is going to seriously hurt their bottom lines.

And do you remember back when the CEO of Chick-Fil-A made comments backing marriage between a man and a woman and the left called for boycotts of the chicken chain?

Yup.

You were lucky if you get a chicken sandwich the lines were so long from people supporting marriage and what the CEO said.

The left is a funny thing when you get right down to it. They always speak as though they are speaking for the majority. Yet time and time again that gets knocked down as bogus.

There is a reason that conservative talk radio has always dwarfed liberal talk radio. There is a reason that Fox News gets considerably higher ratings than the rest of the MSM. There is a reason that liberal calls for boycotts always backfire on them. And there is a reason that when the left tries to infuse its rhetoric into things like music, movies, and other places...

People stop spending their money. People stop watching their programming. And people stop buying their music.

Think back as well to The Dixie Chicks.

One day the left is going to get it. Or maybe they won't. Maybe one of the mistakes we on the right keep making is thinking that liberals have the capacity to think at all, or to see reality. When they are losing handily, they still somehow see themselves as winning. They cannot see reality even if it is right their in front of them plain as day...

They absolutely deny its existence.

The left accepts only one truth. The truth that lives solely in their minds. It costs them support, it costs their supporters money, and I am telling you. Mark my words. It is going to cost them elections too.

Clint Eastwood Attacked By The Left

If I said, "Here we go again," would I sound too cliché? But here we go again. We are living in a time when the left can pretty much say whatever it wants to. Bill Maher can openly attack Sarah Palin and her family and make terrible off color jokes and get away with it. Nigh time talkies like Jay Leno and David Letterman (now both retired incidentally) can say horrible things about conservatives. But whenever a conservative or republican has anything to say, it's lights out and full attack mode on.

And such was the case at the Spike TV awards where Clint Eastwood made a joke about Bruce Jenner, calling him "Caitlyn Somebody," that has the left calling for Eastwood to never see any stage again, and of course the joke will be removed the airing of the awards show.

Notice I said Bruce Jenner and him.

Quite frankly I don't give a rats ass what parts you have surgically removed or altered, your DNA is your DNA and it doesn't lie. Bruce Jenner is a man no matter what he wants to be, and calling him a hero and courageous for being someone who is essentially mentally ill is just stupid.

I refuse to be politically correct about this.

I am tired of the glorification of progressive ideology. Actually, not so much being able to talk about progressive issues. Fine. It's a free country and free speech is free speech. Everyone is entitled to it. But rather what bothers me is the in-your-face ramming down the throat progressive ideology and shutting down anyone else who happens to have an opinion that differs.

You cannot do that. It is unconstitutional.

It is high time that the American people begin to wake up and realize that their thoughts are being controlled by the media, and by the left that controls it. It needs to be realized that the people nodding their heads and agreeing with shutting down the speech of guys like Clint Eastwood, Vince Vaughan, and Rush Limbaugh are simply not paying attention  to what's really going on. They are allowing themselves to be lap dogs and slaves to an ideology they probably don't even fully understand. They are allowing themselves to be lead by the hand to a world in which there is no gray area, and where only the speech of the left is allowed or acceptable, even when it is as downright cruel as some of the things said on the right.

Clint Eastwood has an opinion. He is entitled to it. His joke is no worse than any other joke that has been said by lefties on the stage of similar ceremonies that don't get banned or cut out or ridiculed or attacked.

It's just sickening to me that we continue to allow the media to have their say with a leftist agenda in mind, and so few people call it out for what it truly is. Really folks what we are dealing with is the worst form of censorship. I call this...

A load of bullshit!

Newt Was Brilliant in the CNN Debate

Whatever your opinion of former speaker Newt Gingrich, his response to John King in the recent CNN debate wherein John King chose to open the republican debate with a question about the accusation by Newt Gingrich's former wife that he wanted an open marriage was nothing short of brilliant. The standing ovation he received from the audience was more than well deserved. Even Mitt Romney deserved some kudos for his very poignant response, "John, let's get on to the real issues."

My sentiments exactly.

The sad fact is that so many of these debates led by the largely liberal media have been grossly out of touch with the many real issues we are currently facing as a nation, focusing on things that frankly aren't all that important. Just one example would of course be the "condom" question posed to Mitt Romney in a debate not so long ago. Newt made an obvious point when he said, "I am tired of the elite media protecting Barack Obama by attacking republicans." Because that's exactly what the media has been doing by posing really silly questions in debates that should not only shed light on the proposed policies of the candidates vying for the presidency, but that should also shed light on the very real failures of the Obama administration, and the very real dangers we face nationally if Barack Obama is elected to a second term in office.

The media is supposed to be reporting the news objectively. In the world of journalism there should be no democrats, and no republicans. There should only be unbiased reporting of the facts. Something that is, without question, seriously lacking in the reporting of the news as it relates to our politicians.

No real news, of course. This has been going on for years. But I absolutely applaud Newt Gingrich for attacking back. Isn't about time someone finally takes the media to task?

Another thought comes to mind when I think of Newt Gingrich, because he's really been doing this since the very start of his campaign. He takes no prisoners. He tells it like it is. He does not parse his words. I find this interesting in the sense that one of the guys we all would have enjoyed seeing enter the presidential race was Governor Chris Christie. Without a doubt Christie would have responded in much the same way that Newt Gingrich had if he had found himself in a similar light.

Which leads me to another thought that perhaps there is still some steam in the Gingrich campaign to actually win the nomination after all is said and done. The fact is that what conservatives are looking for is someone who can go toe to toe with Barack Obama in a debate. Newt can do that. What conservatives are looking for is someone who can articulate his ideas and plans. Newt can do that. And conservatives are looking for a strong voice who can lead the party, and right the path we're currently on. I think Newt can do that too.

There's still time to make that determination. But in the meantime if we get one thing out of the CNN debate, my hope is that we get a return to a focus on the issues. It's time to get down to the brass tacks. It's time to stop wasting time talking about things that don't matter. We need to be talking about tax policy, economic policy, getting Americans back to work and how we accomplish that, how we restore faith in our president and our system of government, and how we regain respect from our allies as well as our enemies. And most importantly, we need to get on to talking more indepth about exactly why Barack Obama's policies not only do not work, but why they will harm our country if we continue with them.

Let's hope that happens.
